Virtuality Finally Unearthed!
by Carita Rizzo  June 15, 2009 02:16 PM EST

After more than a year of anticipation, Fox will finally broadcast Virtuality on June 26 (8/7c.) The sci-fi thriller, starring New Amsterdam’s Nikolaj Coster Waldau, is a cross between reality TV and virtual reality, as the crew of a space ship go on 10-year a journey through outer space, while their every move is being taped for a reality show on earth.

Virtuality’s executive producer (and creator of Battlestar Galactica) Ron D. Moore hasn’t given up hope yet that the 2-hour TV movie could still be picked up as a series. “It is a pilot for a series,” he tells TV Guide Magazine. “Never say never… Right now it doesn’t look like it’s going to series, but if enough people watch anything is possible.”

A series of webisodes—segments of the faux reality show Edge of Never on Virtuality—are streaming on its Facebook page. They contain clues about the show’s mythology. Still, Moore says many questions are left unanswered in the special. “It’s got some pretty heavy things that leave you going, ‘Whoa, where’s that going?’”
